How do I locate my routing and account number?

Peoples Bank® Routing Number: 044202505

Routing Numbers are nine digit numbers that can also be referred to as Banking Routing Numbers, Routing Transit Numbers, RTNs and ABA numbers. This code identifies your financial institution.

Your Account Number and Bank Routing Number can be found at the bottom of your checks.

When will my deposit be available?

Note: If you have never ordered checks before, please place your first order via your nearest branch or by calling our Customer Care team at 800.374.6123. We do this in order to protect our clients from fraud.

What should I do if my account number is shorter than 14 digits when ordering checks?

Our check provider requires all account numbers to be 14 digits. If your account number is shorter, add leading zeros (zeros at the beginning of your account number) until it reaches 14 digits.

You may also refer to a previously issued Peoples Bank check – your full 14-digit account number, including zeros, will be printed on the check.

How do I place a Stop Payment on a pending transaction?

To place a Stop Payment on an ACH transaction or an automatic payment, please visit or call your local branch or call our Customer Care Center at 800.374.6123.

Stop Payments on these items must be placed at least 3 business days before the item is scheduled to be taken out of your account. A Stop Payment form must be signed within 14 days or the Stop Payment will be voided. Peoples Bank does not place Stop Payments on debit card transactions. A $35 fee applies for Stop Payments.

What should I do if my debit card is damaged or about to expire?

Call your local branch and talk to one of our representatives. We will automatically send you a new debit card before your current one expires, and you can replace an existing card for a small fee if it is lost or damaged. 

To obtain immediate customer service or account support, call our Customer Care Center at 800.374.6123, Monday – Friday, from 8 a.m. – 7 p.m., or Saturday, from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

If you suspect you are a victim of debit card fraud outside of the above hours, call 800.374.6123 option 3, then option 1, then option 2.

What do I do if I forget my online banking username, password or security question answers?

Select “Forgot your password?” on the log in screen of online or mobile banking if you have forgotten your Peoples Bank password.

Select “Unlock/Forgot Username” on the log in screen of online or mobile banking if you have forgotten your username.

How can I view/edit my contact information within online banking?

How do I send a wire transfer?

Wire transfers are secure when you know the recipient, but scammers often try to trick people into sending money. Before you begin a wire transfer, consider these questions:

  1. Do you know and trust the person or business you are sending money to?
  2. Have you verified the wiring instructions directly with them (using a verified phone number or in person)?
  3. Have you recently received updated payment instructions from an existing person or vendor?
  4. Are you sure this payment request is not the result of a scam or unexpected email/text/call?

If you are unsure, stop and visit or call your local Peoples Bank branch before proceeding. For more information on the different types of scams and how to detect fraudulent activity, visit the Peoples Bank Fraud Prevention Center.

To send a wire transfer, visit your local Peoples Bank branch or log into online banking (business only).

International: You need the recipient’s name, address, bank information (SWIFT code) and account number.

Domestic: You need the recipient’s name, address, bank wire routing number and account number.

How do I receive a wire transfer?

Wire transfers are secure when you know the sender, but fraudsters can create fake invoices or over-payment scams to direct funds to themselves and even take over a bank account.

Watch for these red flags:

  • Unusual Communication from a strange email address or phone number with typos or odd wording.
  • Urgent or secret requests to send money quickly.
  • Overpayment notices with a request to return funds via wire, cryptocurrency, P2P, gift cards, etc.
  • Someone stating they are unable to open an account and need help to receive money
  • You’ve won prize money but you need to pay a fee to receive it.

Where do I find my tax documents?

Come tax season, applicable customers will be mailed tax forms (including a 1099-INT and mortgage-related tax documents) on or before January 31. If you do not receive a form by February 14, please contact our Customer Care Center.
