Caring for Our Communities

At Peoples, giving back is part of who we are, and why we’ve launched two initiatives close to our hearts. Peoples Helping People brings our associates together to volunteer and collect donations where we work and live. With PB & Joy, we focus on fighting food insecurity by partnering with food banks, stocking food pantries, and spreading joy to those in need.

Associates presented a donation on behalf of the Peoples Bank Foundation to Frontier Local School District in support of its new Wellness Zone. The Wellness Zone will offer a variety of opportunities for students to stay active and engaged, including a basketball court, pickleball court, gaga ball pit, and more. It is designed to support both physical activity and overall well-being for students throughout the school.

Vienna, WV

The Peoples Bank, Vienna, West Virginia, branch, presented a donation to North Star Child Advocacy Center, an organization dedicated to providing a safe, supportive environment for children impacted by abuse and neglect. Through advocacy, coordinated services, and child-focused care, North Star helps guide families through challenging situations with dignity and support.

Sutton, WV

Associates presented a donation on behalf of the Peoples Bank Foundation to the WVU-Braxton County Extension Office and Braxton County 4-H in Sutton, West Virginia, helping bring the “4-H at the Market” program to the Sutton Farmers’ Market. Funds will provide vouchers that allow youth to purchase fresh produce and unprocessed farm products directly from local farmers. By selecting their own items at the market, participants gain hands-on experience with budgeting while also learning about the value of fresh, locally sourced foods.

Marietta, Ohio & Parkersburg, WV

Peoples Bank teamed up with SIPS Coffee Truck to serve Wood County (WV) and Washington County (OH) schools for Teacher Appreciation Week. Peoples Bank associates and SIPS delivered 600 coffees and refreshers to teachers, personally thanking school staff for their service.

Peoples Bank associates participated in the She Nailed It event hosted by Habitat for Humanity of the Tri-State. Representing Peoples Bank were Samantha Robinson, Amy Cremeans, Princess Litteral, and Sarah-Jo Baer, who took part in the nail hammering competition alongside other community members. Events like this help raise awareness and support for safe and affordable housing while bringing people together in a meaningful way.

Peoples Bank was proud to host Walking in Maggie Walker’s Footsteps: A Women’s Wealth and Ownership Symposium. Inspired by the legacy of Maggie L. Walker, a trailblazer in financial empowerment and the first African-American woman to charter a bank and serve as a bank president, the event brought community members together to explore themes of ownership, opportunity, and financial confidence.

Associates from the Peoples Bank Mt. Orab, Ohio, branch sponsored the Fiesta Fur Fundraiser, an event benefiting the Brown County Humane Society and its mission to help animals find safe, loving homes. In addition to sponsoring the event, team members also volunteered on-site, assisting with daily care and supporting shelter staff.

Associates from the Peoples Bank, Morgantown, Kentucky, branch, presented a donation to the Special Olympics basketball team in Butler County. The program is open to individuals eight years and older with intellectual disabilities, providing year-round sports training and athletic competition through a supportive, inclusive environment.

Russell, KY

The Peoples Bank Russell, Kentucky, branch welcomed the Greenup County Homeschool Co-Op for a financial literacy session and branch tour. During the visit, students had the opportunity to learn about basic financial concepts and see how a local bank branch operates day to day.

Fifteen Peoples Bank associates attended the Wood County Society's 2026 Telethon in Parkersburg, West Virginia.

Parkersburg, WV

Associates volunteered to answer phones for the Wood County Society’s 57th Annual Telethon, which raised over $340,000. Funds support the organization’s mission to provide valuable programs and resources in 12 counties that support individuals with intellectual and developmental differences.

The Peoples Bank Foundation delivered support on the road ahead to the American Red Cross of the Ohio River Valley. We were proud to share the second installment of a $10,000 pledge to help fund the purchase of a new vehicle to support local Red Cross work – from disaster response and blood services to providing relief and comfort to families during emergencies.
