The Robert E. Evans Education Fund
Education Scholarship
Robert E. Evans began his career with Peoples in 1970 as a trust officer. In 1980 he became the first president and chief executive officer of Peoples Bancorp, Inc., and in 1987 became the sixth president of Peoples Bank. Throughout his 35 years with the company, he inspired those around him to conduct themselves with professionalism and integrity.
Mr. Evans was passionate about being a good corporate citizen and a strong believer in the value of higher education. Throughout his long career, he was dedicated to maintaining a culture of continuous learning and to giving back to the communities served by Peoples.
Peoples Bank created The Robert E. Evans Education Fund to honor his memory in grateful appreciation of his dedication to persistence, determination and his belief in the power of learning.
Scholarship Qualifications
To quality for consideration of this scholarship, a student must:
- Have a GPA of 3.5 or higher
- Be able to demonstrate financial need
- Reside within a Peoples Bank market area or a market area contiguous to Peoples Bank
- Be in pursuit of a four-year degree in the areas of business, education, liberal arts, math, science or technology
Deadline to submit applications for the Robert E. Evans Scholarship is March 31.
