Supporting the Next Generation of Leaders

At Peoples Bank, we believe strong communities start with access to education. The Robert E. Evans Scholarship, funded by the Peoples Bank Foundation, helps high school seniors pursue a four-year college degree and build a brighter future. Created in honor of Robert E. Evans, former President & CEO of Peoples Bancorp, this scholarship reflects his lifelong commitment to learning, leadership, and community service.

The deadline for the 2026-2027 school year was March 31, 2026. The application for the 2027-2028 school year will open on January 4, 2027.

Scholarship Requirements

Financial Need

Demonstrate a financial need, with preference given to students having a higher need. A Student Aid Report (SAR) from FAFSA is required.

GPA Requirement

Have a 3.5 GPA or higher and reside within a Peoples Bank market area (Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, or Washington, D.C.

Post-Graduation Plans

Be a high school senior in pursuit of a four-year degree in business, education, engineering, liberal arts, math, science, or technology.

Robert E. Evans dedicated more than 35 years to Peoples Bank, serving as a trusted leader and becoming the first President and CEO of Peoples Bancorp, Inc. He was known for his professionalism, integrity, and unwavering belief in the value of education. Throughout his career, Robert championed continuous learning and giving back. We created this scholarship in his honor to carry forward his legacy and support students who demonstrate determination, academic excellence, and a commitment to making a difference in their communities.
