Meet the new Spencer, WV Branch Manager!

Meet Ella Cottrell, Peoples Bank’s new Branch Manager of the Spencer, West Virginia office!

Ella has over 10 years of management experience in retail and insurance – she is licensed in property, casualty, life and health insurance in the state of West Virginia.

“I enjoy working directly with my clients to build great working relationships,” she said. “They know when I offer a product at Peoples Bank that I am doing so to help them, instead of making a sale.”

She joined the team at Peoples Bank as part of the Premier Bank acquisition in 2021 as a Universal Banker Operations Specialist. Within a month, she was promoted to Universal Banker II until the Spencer Main and Spencer Drive Thru branches merged, and she became the Personal Banker. Last week, she began her role as Branch Manager!

“At Peoples Bank, we truly have the best community bank atmosphere,” she said. “Even though we have more branches than most banks in our market area, we don’t feel like a ‘big bank’ because we strive to make our clients feel like family.”

Ella loves that Peoples Bank is dedicated to giving back and being involved in the community. “We value all of our clients and communities, regardless of how close they are to a branch,” she said. “At the Spencer location, we not only serve Roane County but Calhoun County as well.”

She is involved in the community by serving on the Board of Directors for the Roane County Chamber of Commerce. In her spare time, she enjoys painting and being outdoors with her husband and four sons. “Family is the most important thing to me, and working at Peoples Bank has made the work and home life balance so easy,” she said.
