Meet Commercial Banker Shawn Taylor!

Jan 29, 2024

Meet Shawn Taylor, a Peoples Bank Commercial Banker in the Mid-Ohio Valley!

Shawn graduated from Marietta College with a degree in Business Management. He started his career as a teller while in college and now has 24 years of experience in banking, with 15 of those in commercial banking.

Shawn enjoys working with his clients, forming a relationship that goes beyond banking. He wants clients to consider him a partner in what they are doing and someone they can trust to come to for advice and guidance on how to better grow their business.

Shawn has worked at Peoples Bank for 11 years and is a 3-time winner of the Peoples Bank President’s Club award, which is awarded semi-annually to associates who have over-achieved their goals and/or were key contributors who delivered an extraordinary effort on special initiatives. He said, “I love the team that I work with, and that makes it fun to do my job every day. We work really hard at PEBO to hire and train the best of the best, and it makes what we do easier!”

Shawn’s best banking advice is, “To find a banker who you know you can trust. It may not always be about the best rate or the best deal on paper. The right banker can help you grow or maintain your successful business and will always put your best interest first. Having a relationship with your bank can go a long way towards helping you meet your goals!”

Shawn is an involved Board Member of Memorial Health Foundation, a Board Member of Parkersburg Wood County Development Corporation, and a Past President and Treasurer of the Rotary Club of Marietta, Ohio.

A fun fact about Shawn is that he was a 3-year starting quarterback for Marietta College from 1999-2001. He also was an assistant football coach on the first (and only) Parkersburg South High School State Championship football team in 2003.

Shawn has spent 20 years as an assistant high school football coach and has coached numerous years of youth baseball and basketball teams. In his free time, he enjoys traveling and experiencing life with his wife Elysia and their family and friends. He is very active, working on their small farm and taking care of their 6 farm cats, 3 dogs, 2 horses, 6 chickens, 2 ducks, and turkey. He loves being a dad and stepdad to their 5 kids Abby, Kurt, Trent, Ayden, Alayna, and more importantly, being Pappy to his two grandbabies, Eliza, and Maddox.

Shawn can be reached at [email protected] or 740-374-6125.
