Meet Doug Helser, Peoples Insurance Agency’s new Employee Benefits Specialist!

Doug has 40 years of experience working in insurance in the employee benefit sector, and he specializes in group health self-funded plans. He is licensed in Property and Casualty, Life, Health and Variable Annuities.

He will be working with the Employee Benefits team out of Jackson, Ohio, with a focus on serving clients and growing the self-funded market segment. “I enjoy helping employers and their associates save time and money on managing their healthcare costs by participating in credible pooled programs and taking full advantage of tax breaks,” Doug said.

Over the years, he has owned and managed three agencies and a Third Party Administrator and built member benefit plans for multiple organizations. He has also served on broker advisory boards for Anthem and UnitedHealthcare.

“I am very excited to work with everyone at Peoples Bank,” he said, “I like the community-based approach, the people and the service resources the Peoples Insurance team brings to the table.”

Doug has been married for 40 years, has two kids and currently resides in Worthington. He is a member of the Aladdin Shrine. In his free time, he is an avid golfer and an artist.
