Professional Development Program

Explore Your Career at Peoples

The Peoples Professional Development Associate (PDA) Program provides a unique opportunity for recent college graduates to immerse themselves in the financial industry and gain valuable real-world experience. Peoples Bank's culture of career coaching, mentoring, supportive managers, and accessible senior leadership helps you prepare for the first steps in your career journey. Example scenarios in the Program include:

• Rotational Job Assignments

• Regular mentorship meetings with the President and CEO

• Networking events with leaders in various Lines of Business

• Travel opportunities throughout our Peoples Bank footprint

Executive Mentorships

As part of the program, you will build an extensive network through our mentorship pairings with a Peoples Bank Executive Management Team member and a former Professional Development Associate. They will serve as your mentors throughout the program, helping you to reach and achieve your professional goals. These mentors are easily accessible and will answer any questions you may have along the way. They will help guide you and act as a reference to you as you navigate through the early stages of your career.

Rotational Job Assignments

The program is structured around a series of rotations throughout the company, enabling you to gain exposure to different lines of business while growing and expanding your skill sets. These rotations give you a well-rounded and first-hand look at how Peoples operates within each department and as a whole. The departments you work with will ask you to provide feedback to specific projects and processes, allowing you to provide value and add meaning in a real-world setting. Areas you will rotate through include:

• Retail Banking

• Commercial Banking

• Credit

• Insurance

• Trusts & Investments

• Finance, Accounting, and Reporting

• Operations (including Marketing and Human Resources)

Management Training

Throughout the program, you will get hands-on management training in many areas of the bank’s operation. The program will prepare you to excel as a knowledgeable and well-rounded manager, from sales training to discipline-specific training in banking, investments, lending, and insurance. Example training includes a week-long Relationships Sales Training focused on understanding the importance of building client and prospect relationships, leading to uncovering specific financial needs.

Defined Career Paths

You will be given the best training possible to prepare you for a career in the financial industry. At the end of your training, you will be qualified to serve in a customer-facing or operationally focused role. The program generally places candidates as branch managers or strategic analysts where further development and training will prepare you for a variety of careers in the financial services industry. The program is designed to develop your talent by providing you a foundation of skills and experiences that will help you shape your lifelong career.

What is the timeline of the program?

The Professional Development Program is generally a 12-15 month program. The program is structured in a two-phase approach with foundational and specialized rotations.

When does the program start?

Peoples accepts applications and resumes anytime throughout the year. Professional Development Associates are usually hired in groups around December and May, but hiring may occur at additional times.

Who can apply?

Anyone with a bachelor's degree has the opportunity to apply. All majors are welcome.

Is this a full-time career opportunity?

Yes, this is a full-time unique career opportunity for college graduates looking to enter the financial services industry.

Does this program offer travel opportunities?

Yes, you will travel throughout our footprint. This offers you the opportunity to see the diversity of our communities while interacting with all departments. We will provide accommodations and travel reimbursement when you do travel.

Where will I live while going through the program?

During your time in the Professional Development Program, you will live in Marietta, Ohio. After your time in the program, you have the opportunity to relocate within our footprint.
