OVERDRAFT PROTECTION

Here is how to Continue Your Peoples Bank Debit or ATM Card
OVERDRAFT coverage.

Recently, federal lawmakers have created new rules governing ATM and everyday debit card transactions that may overdraw your account. These new rules go into effect on August 15, 2010.  Your Peoples Bank checking account may have a special feature called Overdraft Privilege (provided to qualified accounts) that will be changing based on these new rules. Effective August 15, 2010, we will no longer be able to provide Overdraft Privilege for your ATM or everyday debit card transactions automatically, unless you tell us you want to keep it by “opting-in”. Please note that this new rule does not pertain to written checks or recurring debit transactions such as regularly scheduled bill payments.

THE CHOICE IS YOURS!
If you choose to opt-in, your debit card will work as it currently does. If you do not choose to opt-in or we don’t hear from you by August 15, 2010, we will no longer be able to approve ATM and everyday debit card transactions that may overdraw your account.

We know that many of our customers appreciate the convenience, flexibility and peace of mind that is provided by having Overdraft Privilege to cover all of their banking transactions.  By “opting-in”, if eligible, you can be assured that this protection continues to remain available.

To opt-in to Overdraft Privilege for ATM or everyday debit card transactions, please click the "Opt-In Now" link below:
