Wheelchair Basketball Game

Peoples Bank ("Peoples Bank Shots") and the Marietta Memorial Hospital Rehabilitation Center ( Marietta Memorial Hospital "Wheelers" ) partnered once again to host this year's charity event which was held on May 06, 2008 at Belpre High School. This year marks the sixth year for this event.

Wood County Society's Camp ECHO was selected to be the recipient of the proceeds from the Annual Wheelchair Basketball Game. Camp ECHO (Every Camper Has Opportunities), held at Cedar Lakes in Ripley, WV, is a camp that provides activities such as swimming, crafts, music, games and dances to campers who are physically and/or mentally disabled. The goal of Wood County Society is to assist the disabled and maximize the abilities of these individuals. Each year, the campers look forward to camp for the fun and fellowship it provides.

A check for $2,800.00 was presented to Wood County Society's Camp ECHO during their closing activies of this years camp.

Peoples allocates over 30% of its annual marketing budget to public relations and donations, as well as other charitable projects, in the local communities.
